I have a big photo-crush on Bruno Dayan. Fashion photography can tend to look a little formulaic, but his work is innovative in its use of texture and color. Check out his portfolio for more sexy shots.
Not much to say about Justin Maller’s work except, “Wow.”
Inspiring photo manipulation from Swedish photgrapher Eric Johansson.
Loving the colorful and curvaceous illustrative style of Pomme Chan; very bold and feminine. She has an impressive portfolio of fashion, commercial, editorial and typographic work. Check it out here.
Totally amazing sound sculptures by Zimoun. I want to see them in person. More info at Zimoun’s website.
Also from Australia, Pogo is a sampling genius and I’ve been hooked on his work ever since I heard his track, “Alice.” He creates amazing music by sampling famous films like ‘Hook’, ‘Harry Potter’, ‘Marry Poppins’, ‘Alice in Wonderland’, etc. His accompanying videos are cut from the films and are also quite impressive. This is a more recent video from one of my all-time favorite films, ‘Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory’, and I’m totally in love with it. I am in awe of his patience and skill; his is master of the mashup. And you can download his music for free! Check out his Myspace or download tracks from Last.fm.
This New Technology – Midnight Juggernauts from midnight juggernauts on Vimeo.
It doesn’t get much trippier than this. Loving this song as well as the video. There are a lot of great acts coming out of Australia these days, (Empire of the Sun, Pnau) and Midnight Juggernauts are one of my favorites. Video by Special Problems, who also have a great portfolio.
Very inspired by the work of Oliver Vernon. It’s kind of an assault on the eyes, but in a good, visually stimulating way. I could lost in one of these for a while, there’s so much to look at.
Loving the electrosexual vibes of illustrator Augusto Giovanetti, aka Prrr. His collages create interesting juxtapositions between flesh, form, and color.
